757 255-4168 stjohns1755@verizon.net Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30am
Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

St. John's e-News for Sunday February 3, 2013

Preparation for Lent – As we begin looking forward to Lent you will notice the doors into the Sanctuary from the Narthex will be closed before service starts. We will use the doors as a reminder of our going to a place set aside for worship and intentional communication with God. At the end of Lent, we will invite your reflections on the new position of the doors.

Brunswick Stew Sale for Oakland Christian UCC – Randy Rowell, of Oakland Church, will pick up the forms and checks this coming Sunday after church. He will deliver the stew to St. John’s on Sunday, February 10th, between 11:30 and 11:45 so that it will be there for you to take home.

Thought for the week – Listen: Remember prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue. Speak what is on your heart and listen to God’s response.
