Vestry Announcements – The following assignments on the vestry have been
made for the coming year. The Senior Warden will continue to be Leone Vigil

affirmed the following Parish officers: Marlene Stanton continues as

regarding our blessings and thanksgivings in the jar in the Narthex.
Wednesday Morning Book
Study – The
Wednesday morning book study will continue this coming Wednesday, January 23 and
will include a luncheon. When the group returns it will pick up the study of
“The Bible Jesus Read” by Philip Yancy in the chapter on the Psalms. If you are
interested please contact Margaret.
Formation Classes – This Sunday we will take a break from Formation
class due to the Rector’s absence. Next will discuss our Old Testament reading Nehemiah 8:1-10, “Ezra
Summons the People to Obey the Law” from 9:15-10:15 am. All are invited to join us for class next Sunday.
A reminder; there is nursery service available during the education hour.
Today’s Psalm – We will sing the portion of the Psalter in
unison. We will use a metrical version of the Psalter from A New Metrical
Psalter by Christopher Webber as we sing Psalm 36:5-10 together. The Psalm
will be set to Hymn 531, “O Spirit of the Living God” (Melcombe)
from the Hymnal 1982. The words and music will be found on a bulletin insert.
Thought
for the week – Love: God is love; and when we love, we embody, we incarnate God’s very
essence. Though we love so imperfectly, when we do, God’s very essence has
become manifest in this world.
