Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection and comment for Sunday Jan. 13 - Annual meeting

Happy Baptism of Jesus! We celebrated the first Sunday after the Epiphany in good form followed by our annual meeting. The meeting was informative and we bid farewell to our two departing Vestry members Gary and Burr and welcomed our new Vestry Members Susan and Jim. We talked about the financial picture of the parish and gave a snapshot of the year we had in 2012. We are looking forward to a good year in 2013 and have somre room to grow and go in our budget. We also talked about the coming years of the church and taking care of the wonderful sanctuary.

Today's sermon looked at the stories in today's scripture discussing the unexpected messenders in our lives. We looked at how our relationship with God gave us an assurance of God's presence and the need to be aware of the unexpected messengers in our life and the people for whom we are unexpected messengers of God's grace.

I invite your comments.
