Our Lenten Worship – Our norm for Sunday worship during Lent will be
Holy Eucharist Rite I. During Lent we will sing the Trisagion (Holy God,
Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, Have mercy upon us) and the Agnus Dei
(O Lamb of God…) for the Fraction Anthem. We will also recite the Psalm
responsively alternating sides in the “monastic” style – with a slight pause at
the asterisks. As a reminder, we will refrain from using Alleluia at the
dismissal during Lent.
Brunswick Stew Delivery
from Oakland Christian UCC –Brunswick Stew, for those who placed orders last week, will be
delivered from Oakland Christian UCC at the end of Worship this Sunday.

unison. We will use a metrical version of the Psalter from A New Metrical
Psalter by Christopher Webber as we sing Psalm 99 together. The Psalm will
be set to Hymn 419, “Lord of all being” (Mendon) from the Hymnal
1982. The words and music will be found on a bulletin insert.
Thought
for the week – Freedom: One of the ways we can be held captive and in prison is by
memories: things which are in the past which can keep us tied to the past, like
prisoners. Jesus comes to us to save us from the past, give us freedom in the
present, and hope for the future.
