Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection and sermon from December 9 and December 2

Happy Advent 2012 - it is a wonderful season for us. We celebrated the second Sunday in Advent with the second consecutive week of choir and good attendance again. There are plenty who are helping us prepare for the celebration of the coming of Christ at Christmas but also keeping us grounded in the present moment. Today was also the "official" completion of the pledge drive.

This week we took a look at the messenger and how we are called to share God's message. We looked at the "anonymous" messenger, Malachi; and the well known messenger, John the Baptist. The question we looked at were many but importantly how we are challenged to be prepared to be God's messenger, to receive God's messenger, and to share God's message wherever we are. I invite your comments and likes.
