Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection for Sunday November 25, 2012

Happy Christ the King Sunday! We pray everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving and had the ability to spend time with family and loved ones over the holiday. Last Sunday's community celebration was fabulous.

We continued our journey looking at the places and ways that God calls us to do God's work in the world. Today was a day that pointed out the tension in scripture, our lives, and God's presence in the tension of our lives. We explored the ways that we take comfort in God's desire to be in relationship with us and how that helps us work through the tension in our ministry. We will begin our journey in Advent next week and try to continue our examination of our life in tension in the world.

I invite your comments.
