Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for Sunday July 8, 2012

After a short break I bid you greetings from the swampy, soupy wilds of Southern Virginia. It's been hot and humid for most of the last 2-3 weeks and it's taking a toll on the area. Even with the ugly conditions this morning we had a good turn out and even saw a couple folks who had been a little laid up recently. We've set up for the long haul and taking some time to reflect on God's grace in our lives and our response to God's grace - sometimes by simply "talking to the turkeys" and others by looking at the growth and tugging of God's call in our community.

Peace,
Les+
