Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Trinity Sunday Reflection and Sermon

Happy Trinity - the celebration of the intersection of God the Father (and Creator), God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit with humanity. It was a blessing to welcome visitors from far and wide - as far away as New Mexico and another priest from our Diocese. Sunday School took an in depth look at "Woman Wisdom" and how knowledge about God and the wisdom to apply our knowledge of God to our right relationship with our community.

There was a wonderful celebration of the Trinity during worship today. Our sermon looked at the Trinity and the belief that we can't simply not talk about the Trinity because it is too confusing or too complicated to understand. We reflected about how the Trinity is a description of the relationship between humanity and God; the promise that we would "get it" when the time was right. We wondered about what it means for us to be connected and searching for God in the story and telling God what we see as God's part in the story. The blessing of the Trinity.
