Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection and sermon for May 12 - Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day and Sunday of the Ascension. We had a great Sunday on one of the "in-between" Sundays in our liturgical year - not quite Pentecost and immediately following Ascension Day. Even more interesting is remembering mothers on Mother's Day. We looked at Acts in our formation class asking about the good news that comes from the witness of Christ in the lives of everyday people.

In worship we took a look at the confusion of the day and a quest to find a common thread to help lead us on our way. Today we examined the balance of doing God's work because Christ will return at end times and managing the things that bind us in our prisons - whatever they may be. We know this because God goes before us and intercedes for us.

I invite your comments,
