Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for Sunday September 30, 2012

Greetings friends and visitors, it was another blessed day in Chuckatuck. We had a good turnout and were blessed to have a couple young parishioners in worship today. It is always a blessing to have their energy in the room and it is infectious. I bet you can hear them in the midst of the sermon and I hope it isn't too distracting.

We took a look at the comparison and contrast between the personality of Esther and James. Each makes up a part of a faithful follower of Christ, each equally important - one who waits and listens for God's call and direction and one that takes action to bring about the reign of God on earth. A challenging thing to think about and I'm not sure I can provide more than reflection questions. However, I invite your comments.
