757 255-4168 stjohns1755@verizon.net Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30am
Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for Sunday December 18, 2011 - 4 Advent

Today marked the first anniversary of my Ordination as a priest. This past week also marked my first anniversary at St. John’s. It has been a truly blessed year and I continue to learn about the ministry in Chuckatuck and in Northern Suffolk. It looks like it will be a truly blessed year to come.

Our Advent preparations are slowly coming to a close. We greened the church after church this morning; Don and I have the Christmas Eve and Day bulletins roughed out; and the end of the calendar year approaches. Today we shifted gears a little and looked at Mary, David, and Nathan and how we emulate their confidence. Today’s sermon “God blesses our confidence in our relationship with ‘Him’.”

I pray you have a great remainder of Advent.
