Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for the 4th Sunday in Lent (A) - 4/3/2011

Greetings from the middle of Lent. It was a great spring day today at St. John’s; a welcome change from last week in the rain. We have continued moving forward in our mutual ministry and started providing Nursery care today and had a few little ones there today. We continued to enjoy our Lenten musical offering by our keyboard player, Nellwyn Beamon, and our guest vocalists Joe DeBeasso (tenor), and Brian Gilbert (baritone). Looking up from the middle of Lent today we reflected on Jesus’ miracles and our reaction to them. Some images to think about include God meeting us and healing us down in the dirt where we are. Let us ponder “how Jesus and God meet us in miraculous way exactly where we are.”
Peace,
Les+
