Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for the 3rd Sunday in Lent (A) - 3/27/2011

Greetings as we approach the middle of Lent. It was a late winter’s day at church and no four footed visitors today. We had a guest vocalist, Miss Amanda Brandenburg, today and she provided a graceful portion of our chanted Great Litany and a solo at the Offertory. She helped us have a blessed worship service. Many thanks to our keyboard player, Ms. Nellwyn Beamon, she has added a lot of musical variety to our services and has helped enhance the worship experience. I’ve attached a link to today’s sermon, “What is our response when we ‘harken to God’s voice’?”

I pray everyone is having a blessed Lenten journey and bid you God's peace,

Les
