757 255-4168 stjohns1755@verizon.net Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30am
Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection for June 23

I pray you had a wonderful Sunday on the 5th Sunday after the Pentecost it was a joyful celebration of our life together in church today. It was another Sunday with the Prophet Elijah: We saw a bit of Elijah's humanity and the fears of God's faithful prophet when the world closes in. Elijah helps us see that the cyclical nature of life is to be expected and embraced. We looked at how we might be at any place in the cycle of life with God and how we are encouraged to be present with each other as we travel along the cycle of life - not only as individuals but as worshiping bodies of faithful believers. I invite your comments.

There will be a break in sermons as I’ll be away on vacation for the next two weeks and the supply clergy will most likely not record their sermons. Enjoy the two weeks off and I’ll see you in July.

Peace,
Les+
