Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Sermon for Sunday August 7, 2011 - Pentecost 8A

Happy August – we’re beginning to build our fall program. It was nice to see some faces who haven't been away for a while. On top of the returning vacationers we had a few visitors this morning and it was a blessing to see some new folks as well as some who haven’t been here in years. It is nice to make a connection with people who have a history with us. We are also energized with those who are new. We held our first liturgical planning team meeting today and had a decent turn out and have most of the plans for the next month taken care of.

The readings today were interesting and raised many challenging questions. We delve into the lives of Peter and Joseph and their belief. Today’s sermon is entitled, “Where is God calling us to move in our belief?”
Peace,
Les+
