Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

3 Epiphany Sermon - being united in Christ

Here is today's sermon that was preached on the 3rd Sunday after the Epiphany. It was a blessed day with our first healing service. I hope you are challenged by today's sermon and blessed as I was in developing the sermon.

Peace,
Les+

  1. A clarification to the Sermon.

While Peter was known for being so methodical that he almost allowed his boat to sink and he had times when he was slow to act; many think of Peter's impetuous actions "I will never deny you..." etc. first.

Regarding the reference to Isaiah living 6,000 years ago. The reference was supposed to be Abraham as opposed to Isaiah; a hazard of mind maps as Sermon notes (no long sentences, simply principle points to make).

    Regrettably,
