Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection and sermon for October 20, 2013 - "The Day is Coming..."

A nip is in the air today as we give thanks for sunshine and loved ones. Our journey in Formation class continued through Jeremiah as we investigated the truth of personal responsibility for our future and the reality of God intimately present inside each of us. We realized, as Jeremiah said “The day is coming…” when we won't wrangle over words and we search for God inside calling to God in others. We are taught by scripture to know God in our lives and we are encouraged to "try new things" to unearth God inside - even those things that seem foreign to us. How is God calling you to look inward for the truth because God is inside? How do you help others see God inside themselves searching for new ways to see God?

I invite your comments,

Les+
