Welcome to St. John's community. We are honored to serve Christ, and to open our doors to all. Please feel free to join us for worship. St. John's can trace its history to the founding of Jamestown. The parish is over 350 years old, and the church building itself has stood for 2 and a half centuries. St. John's saw the American Revolution and served as a camp ground for troops during the Civil War. Through it all, St. John's has been a place of worship and a home for those seeking communion with Christ. St. John's has a rich and abiding history. Today, it is as it was... a place to find and be found by Christ.

Reflection for Sunday Dec. 30, 2012

Blessings on this last Sunday in 2012 and the first Sunday after Christmas. It was a blessing to celebrate today because we baptized two new members of the body of Christ - Sarrem and Abbem. It was nice and moving to hear these young men (11 and 7) declare their faith in the saving grace of God in Christ. It was special to celebrate my first baptism in our Church - what a wonderful event for a couple wonderful children.

We looked at the readings from today and how we are being challenged to be a witness of God's love celebrated at Christmas, sharing our vision of Christ in ourselves and Christ among us. I invite your comments.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years,
Les+
